So I’ve seen people kinda sneak more innocuous looking antisemitic symbols and imagery into stuff a lot. Like I get asks on this blog sometimes that try and trick me into posting neo-nazi symbols.

The one of the less known and more innocuous looking ones that I see a lot are nested parentheses, which are parentheses that look like (((this))) which are put around names in order to draw attention to how “Jewish” they sound. It’s an alt right meme that’s used to attack Jewish people. (Note that some Jews reclaim this and put their own names in nested parentheses as a joke and some people put entire sentences in nested parentheses in order to like, make them look quieter or something)

Another one is the numbers 14/88, usually put together but sometimes each on their own. These are older symbols associated with the nazi party and you should be very wary of people with these numbers in their urls, on their clothes, etc. obviously they’re just numbers so there could be other reasons people associate themselves with them but still, they do have nazi ties, so be careful. 88 references that “h” is the 8th letter in the alphabet, so it’s an acronym for heil hitler. 14 stands for the two 14 word long white supremacist slogans: “we must secure the existence of our people ands future for our white children.” And “Because the beauty of the White Aryan woman must not perish from the earth.”

So yeah please just stay safe, sorry I had to talk about this but seriously please please be careful everyone.
