If you ever think your fanfic idea is too ridiculous to write, just remember that someone once rewrote a 15th century English war of succession using Yu-Gi-Oh characters in the place of real historical people and that this is an actual official video game for the Yu-Gi-Oh franchise.

“Yu-Gi-Oh The Duelists of the Roses” is a PS2 game and is a card game with pseudo-board game elements and does indeed take place in 15th century England. Yugi Moto is leading the Red Roses and Seto Kaiba leads the White Roses (because of course he fucking would). You are a person from the future summoned at Stonehenge by “Celtic magic”(their words not mine). You get to chose which side to support and fight the respective Duelists of each side. White fights Joey,Teá, and co. while Red fights Weavil and Rex and such. Mai Valentine can be taken to either side because why not. Also the game opens with the quote “A card! A card! My kingdom for a card!” and is about as historically accurate as the rest of the series is with ancient Egypt. A good game besides being REALLY difficult.
