The World Ends with You is a game by Square Enix that was originally released on the Nintendo DS in 2008. It follows a misanthropic teenager named Neku Sakuraba, who wakes up in the middle of Shibuya Crossing one day and discovers that not only is he dead, but that in order to come back to life, he needs to partner up with another person and play The Reaper’s Game.

What I like about the game:

• Unique battle system (at the time)
• A+ story and characters
• Joshua Kiryuu
• Japanese fashion culture
• Amazing soundtrack
• Set in the fashionable Shibuya district
• Joshua Kiryuu
• You can imprint memes into peoples’ heads
• and eat tons of food
• Hilarious dialogue
• Have I mentioned Joshua Kiryuu?
• THE BIG TWIST AT THE END

• “Must… resist… emo urges…”
• I NEED MORE CANDYCANE
