I noticed too- here’s my theory: awakening and fates were used to draw people in with fan service. Awakening was the initial draw, fates was the one to make sure they had both veterans and new player’s attention (bad or good attention). Wanting to go back to original fe, they reimagined gaiden to see if people would still be interested in old fe. Due to overall positivity, they’ll probably cut a lot of the fan service now that they know the franchise is able to survive while staying close to its roots. If nintendo went on a forum talking about por or rd they would’ve realized this already but hey, better late than never. Still just a theory though.
