hey i am actually really scared of natsume sweeping this thing under the rug. theyre quiet because theyre waiting for everyone ot calm down so they can continue getting away with their child grooming agenda. there are still people out there that dont realize natsume “defended” themselves by implying that the character is fine because it iwll mature into a human quicker than regular humans (which imo is WORSE, so what is it like a dog or something?)
so just in case you’re not in the know: natsume has revealed a YOUNG CHILD as a MARRIAGE CANDIDATE which you need to raise to an adult in order to marry it.
yeah, that is not right. most people are very adamantly like “this is CLEARLY NOT GOOD”, and of course they’re being ignored. thats what natsume does. they do the completely fucking opposite of the right thing. every time. and i used to defend them.
though most people are openly against it, there are a startling amount of people with their own reasoning as to why this is ok: – common in japan (that doesn’t make it acceptable. this isn’t japan.) – lumina in AWL needed to get older (yeah i have ot agree this is weirder now than it was 10 years ago- BUT lumina was already almost an adult, she was not a LITERAL CHILD). they also changed lumina to be an adult right off the bat in Harvest Moon DS.

overall, pedophilia? apparently more acceptable than gay marriage.
yeah, great! wow! sure am glad thats settled! its ok guys, turns out we DONT need to wait 18 in game years for them to be legally adult, because they age differently! she may be two, but shes very mature for her age!
so yeah, this is pretty sickening and they will absolutely get away with it if they think theyve done so.
a very big tactic of companies is to ignore a problem until everyone moves on.
i have worked in the video game industry. ignoring a problem until the fanbase forgets about it is a very common tactic to get around fixing or addressing the problem. them hoping we forget is a tactical move, because it is admittedly easy to get upset. companies gauge the true feedback of a proposed new idea by how quickly everyone forgets about it.
i am just one person, there is only so much awareness i can spread. but natsume very obviously supporting child grooming should set off some red lights with you, and if it does, i beg you to like/share this post.
If you have ever played or enjoyed Harvest Moon, this is the company that took over their IP. Formerly it just handled English translation, but now it’s obtained the name “Harvest Moon” and is churning out inferior-quality titles (complete with this monstrosity of a “bachelor” in the Special Edition of their latest dumpster fire.)
Natsume thinks child grooming is a special enough feature to charge you 40$ (plus DLC,) but Story of Seasons is the new English title for the HM games we love, produced by the old company.
