That’s where the book and the film differ so much. When I’d watched the film for the first time – I was so pissed of with Simon’s friends ADHFDPIFVJDFIFDI!!! But then I’d read the book, and was like… okay – this is how it should be. Because in the book his friends were actually supportive in that crucial moment when he was at his most vulnerable, and they actually tried to kick the arses of those two arseholes who bullied Simon at school.
I love the film , I really do. But go read read the book if you haven’t done it yet, you are missing out a lot. There is so much more to it than in the film. Go read it, you’ll love it.
