look how many fucking endings and routes this game had

this is also ignoring the true ending

is….is this the shadow the hedgehog story map

fun fact

in shadow the hedgehog, completing a playthrough unlocked a cutscene sequence of that playthrough in the extras menu

literally just the level cutscenes placed in the order that you just played

each sequence had its own name and all 300 of them needed to be unlocked to 100% the game

you literally with no exaggeration had to do 300 playthroughs of shadow the hedgehog to 100% it

what the fuck

It’s actually 326 playthroughs, and some of the titles read like b-sides from My Chemical Romance’s middle two records. Like. Seriously. Look at this shit:

I’m pretty sure Trent Reznor has a song titled after number 39, like come on.

For anyone needing titles for their angst fic, just consult this list. It’s probably got you covered. In fact, I propose we take this list and make a writing meme out of it. Can we? Can we make this a thing?

this post is old as fuck BUT i wanted to revisit it because guess what got posted to /r/speedrun today

winxology:

Don’t take this as me defending the newer transformations, but at this point we all know Winx Club is the kind of magical girl show that invents new fairy forms every season as part of their strategy to keep things interesting (and also to sell merchandise). With the pressure to churn out so many different evolutions, coupled with the challenge to animate them, it’s to be expected that some of them are hit or miss. We all have our preferences, and it’s okay to like or dislike any particular transformation that doesn’t vibe with you.

What’s kind of pointless and counterproductive is to compare every single new transformation to Enchantix. Now, don’t get me wrong, Enchantix is pretty, it’s a fan favorite for good reason, and I’m not telling you you’re wrong or clouded by nostalgia or a purist or whatever for liking it. I’m not even saying you’re wrong for thinking no transformation will ever measure up to it, because that’s like, your opinion, bruh.

What I am getting sick and tired of, however, is constantly seeing the new transformations being compared unfavorably to Enchantix. It’s gotten to the point where they just don’t stand a chance. It’s like instead of being judged on their own merit, they’re judged on some kind of Enchantix standard. Which is odd, because they’re not Enchantix, they were never meant to look like Enchantix, their styles aren’t supposed to resemble Enchantix’s.

(The only transformation lucky enough to escape this fate most of the time is Believix despite its polarizing reception.)

Basically, my only wish is for this fandom to dissect new transformations and judge them as they are, not as what they look like compared to Enchantix.

P.S. In fact, I don’t really understand why fandom makes such a big deal over the newest transformation before every new season airs because if you don’t like it, you’ll only have to endure it for 26 episodes before another one takes its place.

I’m super curious of question 8 of that ask meme! :3

40 Questions Meme!

8: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

Oh boy. This is… A really hard one for me, actually. Most of the stuff I write is self-indulgent stuff that’s not meant for anyone but me to read, so it can be hard finding something I feel okay with sharing. But let me see what I’ve got. Spoiler warning for the most recent My Little Pony: Equestria Girls special (Forgotten Friendship) under the cut.

I have no clue how to talk about my own writing. So I guess I picked the worst thing to try to talk about, actually. There’s only one recent finished (well, sort of – this part is) work of mine that I’m even remotely proud of, so I guess that’s what I’m using. This piece isn’t titled yet, but it’s set a little while after Forgotten Friendship, for context. I felt like something was missing, so I wrote what I wanted to see. This is just a scene from it.

Twilight placed her hand on Sunset’s shoulder. “Listen, Sunset. I know you want to help everyone, but… Sometimes you can’t always manage to do all the right things. How many students go to Canterlot High? You’re never going to be able to help all of them. Even all seven of us working together couldn’t manage that. There’s too many people with too many problems, and we couldn’t solve some of them in the first place. And sometimes they become our problems too, because they get their hands on Equestrian magic. …Seriously, do these famous sorcerers from your world ever think about the consequences of dumping magic into another dimension?”
Sunset shrugged. That was actually one of the things she had been wondering about recently. Exactly how many random Equestrian artefacts were hidden in and around Canterlot High? “No idea.”
“Anyway, back on topic. You can’t blame yourself for Wallflower. None of us noticed her, it’s not like you were the only one who couldn’t see her. She was angry and resentful towards you, maybe, but it wasn’t anything you did that caused it.”
“So was I, for a long time,” Sunset reminded her. “And you’re right, as usual.  But what am I supposed to do, then?”
“Help when you can. I’m not telling you not to care about other people, Sunset. Just not to believe that every problem someone blames you for could be fixed by you alone. And to remember that it’s not your job to make sure everyone’s problems are solved.“
“You didn’t see how I acted… I was so much like my old self for a minute that it scared me.”
Twilight smiled at her. “Don’t you remember? Your first interaction with me was yelling at me, too. But you’re usually only like that when something happens that threatens the people or things you care about. Nobody expects you to be a saint, Sunset.”

I’m supposed to explain why I’m proud of it, right? Well, mostly it’s because I think I captured my personal interpretation of Sunset here (just mine, I can’t speak for anyone else!) – so anything from this point on is discussing that interpretation. She still struggles with the aftermath of the first Equestria Girls movie, remembering how terrible she was, and sometimes she tries to overcompensate when she’s blamed (or perceives herself as being blamed) for things – and that rarely solves much of anything. Trying to take things into her own hands and fix problems she feels she caused, and just generally blaming herself for those problems, that kind of thing. (Also, I have a lot of feelings about the Wallflower situation in general, but that’s irrelevant.)

And as for Twilight, she was harder because I can’t relate as strongly to her as I can to Sunset, but she’s trying her best to be helpful and a good friend. Trying to point out the reasons Sunset shouldn’t be blaming herself.

Aside from that, though, I barely remember this fic ‘cause I wrote it in like, an hour directly after watching Forgotten Friendship when it was first released

(as such, it abides by the version that was initially released and not the currently-being-released extended version.)

. I might clean it up and post it somewhere when it’s Really Actually Finished, but it was really just something self-indulgent I needed to read after watching, so I made it myself.

Autism and NT concepts in children’s literature

hyena-frog:

I work in a public library and there are times a book comes through circulation that is so awesome I can’t believe I hadn’t seen it before.

Last week I came across this lovely children’s picture book called Why Johnny Doesn’t Flap: NT is OK! by Clay Morton, Gail Morton, and illustrated by Alex Merry. (Pardon the library barcode covering part of the title here.)

image
image

[Pictures of the front and back covers of the picture book. The back cover summary says: “My friend Johnny is different from me. We have fun together, but sometimes he acts pretty strangely. He is never exactly on time, he can;t seem to strict to a routine, he stares right into your eyes, and he often says puzzling things. Johnny is neurotypical. I like Johnny and I think being NT is OK.”]

The fact that I was seeing the term “NT” on the cover of a children’s book was enough to pique my interest. Upon further inspection, I discovered that the book is really quite lovely!

image

[Two page spread reads: “We have a lot of fun together, but sometimes he acts pretty strangely. Mom says it is because he is NT, or neurotypical. He doesn’t have autism, so his brain works differently from mine, but that’s OK.”]

It flips the typical “little Timmy has a special friend” narrative on its head. Instead, the narrator is an autistic boy who has an NT friend who he sometimes struggles to understand.

image

[Two page spread reads: It can be pretty interesting being friends with a kid who is NT. He has a lot of quirks that can be very frustrating until you get used to them. Mom says that everyone’s brain is different and different isn’t always wrong.”]

The book uses simple terms to describe a perspective not usually seen in any literature, let alone lit intended for children.

image

[Two page spread reads: “When something exciting happens, Johnny doesn’t respond like you would expect. He doesn’t flap his arms or jump up and down. He just moves the sides of his mouth up and slightly widens his eyes. Maybe he doesn’t know much about how to express emotions.”]

I think ultimately this flipping of the narrative is more effective in getting the message across that kids with autism are just like everyone else but with unique needs.

image

[Two page spread reads: “Johnny never has a meltdown when disasters happen, like a fire drill or art class being canceled. He is afraid of what people might think. It seems like he is bottling his feelings up, but he just has his own way of dealing with things, and that’s OK.”]

And this book is something autistic kids don’t usually have– it’s a book from their perspective! And it’s a non-offensive, matter-of-fact perspective, which is all the rarer.

image

[Two pages spread reads: “When he talks to you, Johnny looks directly into your eyes, which can make you pretty uncomfortable. He doesn’t mean any harm, though. That’s just the way he is, and that’s OK.”]

It talks about things that autistic people experience and can relate to.

[Page reads: “I like Johnny. I think that being NT is OK.”]

How awesome is that?

I really hope Love, Simon opens up the gateway for more lighthearted LGBT romcoms. I want more of these movies, especially a wlw movie on the same scale as Love, Simon. I want a wlw movie that’s not edgy and broody but sappy and wholesome. I want a wlw movie made for teenager girls to watch and relate to. I want it to be as popular as Love, Simon.

Simple guide:

Born before 1980: You’re gen x, why are you even worrying about this. Maybe go do some gen x things like writing articles about how much us millennials suck.

Born in the 80s or early to mid 90s: millennial

Born between like 1996 and 2000: This is the no man’s land. No one knows which generation you are from. Both will welcome you as one of their own, however.

Born in the 2000s: Gen Z

Born in the 2010s: dude you’re like 5 what are you doing on this site? people say bad words on here please leave.

I’m seeing people born between 1996 and 2000 reblog this and be like, upset they don’t belong, let me clarify. As far as I’m concerned, you guys belong in both generations. You’re still old enough to have seen the huge culture and technological change that we millennials did, and still got fed the same false promises of prosperity as long as we worked hard before the economy went to crap. But you’re also young enough that this change happened early in your lives, and you grew up mostly in the same environment Gen Z kids did. You probably experienced this huge shift way more profoundly than those of us on either side did.

Tl;dr. you guys got both the millennial experience and the gen z experience. Sure it’s hard to place you in one generation or the other, but it doesn’t mean you don’t belong in either. It means you belong in BOTH.
