“If you want to show your support for the project, you can shop themed merchandise in the Team Supreme Shop, where Leonard says a portion of the sales will go toward autism awareness.”
I got real petty over on the Facebook page and IT WAS GLORIOUS.
This is me, going to check out Legendary Books now…
Publisher: We think that the way the fantasy genre treats women is problematic so we’re going to try and do better
A Fool: If you don’t like it why don’t you make your own!
Publisher: That
That is literally what we just said we are doing
GUESS WHO’S BACK, BIGOTED FUCKWADS?
BOY it feels good to be back in this particular saddle!
AHAHAHAHAHA we have a winner for today!
May I just say (and also condemning myself to death here) that I don’t actually like advertise and promote a fantasy book just by the character sexuality? I mean, LGBT characters in books are great, as well as a large assortment of characters from different ethnicities and origins, but a fantasy books should be know for it’s fantasy features and great plot. If the book it’s trash (not this one in particular) it can have all his LGBT characters you want but it will still be trash… as many book with a lot of straight character can be trash too as it can be very good, just like a book with a lot of LGBT character can be very good too.
You know, we’ve been getting this a lot since this post started blowing up.
Honest answer is that we advertise our books ALL THE TIME talking about the plot, the characters, and the world. That’s the main advertising we do. It’s where 99.9% of our ad money goes.
The above post was NOT a paid advertisement. It was supposed to be a one-off joke. Yet it got this huge reaction and has garnered massive attention. Heck, it ended up on YOUR dash, when you’ve clearly never heard of us our our books before despite all the advertising we’ve done over the years.
If this one post, which we DIDN’T pay to promote, got your attention, when tens of thousands of dollars of paid advertising have never reached you, would you say there’s a good chance that this message resonated with people, and they’re happy to see themselves not only represented, but stood up for?
I love headcanons that don’t directly contradict anything in canon because I can say that Minerva McGonagall has a muggle wife, Flitwick was an accomplished pole dancer in his youth, and Snape has required weekly snark seminars in the Slytherin common room and you can’t tell me I’m wrong.
There are characters I would probably die for but at the
same time I get personally offended when people say “They’re a pure cinnamon
roll who did nothing wrong uwu” like EXCUSE ME, they did a lot of things wrong,
they are a walking dumpster fire, do not deny their crimes.
minority culture is being labelled too political because you dont want to be friends with people who literally dont think you should have the same rights as them
