Fun fact: she left Yahoo citing the staggering incompetence of management and development teams. She was brought in to salvage Yahoo and they proceeded to ignore her and belittle her every chance she got.
I’ve read that it’s a known phenomenon, where a woman is hired or promoted into a position after the project has become a guaranteed disaster, so she takes the fall.
From what I understand, tumblr is kind of a money-sink for Yahoo. The userbase here rarely clicks on ads and that’s kind of the only way they’ve tried to monetize the platform. I think the blanket ban might be an actual legitimate attempt to shut the site down without giving the whole story to its users (and obviously being taken off the app store didn’t help revenue or visibility). If most users leave they can say “welp the time of microblogging has come to an end” and quietly shut the site down while we all say “I told you so”, not realizing that’s what they wanted all along because we aren’t making them money.
not to be r*mantic on main but i deserve to be able to climb onto the roof of an abandoned building and stargaze with someone i love at least once in my life
Latest clip from my upcoming (hopefully someday) pop/VGM megamix/mashup album Critical Hits! Found this mix by accident and I think it works surprisingly well. Cross Examination theme from the first Ace Attorney vs. Poker Face. Also features the Cadenza remix of the theme, which is awesome.
The gathering screeched to a halt when an unfamiliar tom stepped paw into the clearing. He was a vast orange tabby, with an all too familiar claw studded collar snug around his neck and a smug, dangerous grin plastered on his wide muzzle.
“You thought you could hide from me, Rusty?”
I present this very, very good comic with no comment.
