Have you ever visited other countries?

Technically, yes. I spent like, two hours in a small town in Maine, USA one night. But everything was closed, so we didn’t get to see anything besides the inside of a Wal-Mart. I want to travel more in the future, but my mother has organized every trip I’ve been on and she has this anti-plane, pro-road-trip agenda. Personally I’d rather go somewhere far away and get there faster, but she prefers driving to New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

Prevous anon. Thanks for giving such a detailed answer. I’ve always been curious (especially after the Orange Demon got into power) what people from other countries think of America and the American people. I’ve also always assumed that Brits, Canadians, and Australians see the US like a relative that they think should start taking its meds, but is too stubborn to. lol

An understandable question, really. Though, joking about medication (and not taking it when you should) isn’t exactly the best thing to do, for future reference. It’s a pretty serious topic.

It’s no problem, I like going into more detail than is usually necessary. I either write paragraphs or a single sentence, usually. Not too much of an in-between.

Well I can’t speak for Britain and Australia, or even most of my own country, I personally look at the US and wonder why they’re so resistant to change? That might be the wrong wording, but… What I mean is, their majority stance on things like gun control or the way discussions involving reform of sexual education tend to go, and the reasonings they give for it. Just because your current system looks functional to you doesn’t mean it is (and what the people in power see as ‘functional’ genuinely baffles me), and it definitely doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be improved.

Sorry, this wound up really long, too. I have a lot of feelings on these subjects, but I actually tried to hold back (bet you couldn’t tell from how much I did wind up writing).

‘Orange Demon’, nice. ‘Chief Cheeto’ is my go-to insult these days, but I also kinda like ‘The Annoying Orange’,

Random question, but what’s your opinion of the USA and Americans?

Thank you for the random question, anon, I’ve missed answering them!

Well, for all the jokes I make, I don’t really have too much on Americans as a whole. But both my partners and a good deal of my friends are American, so I’d say they’re people like anyone else. Some of ‘em are good people, some of ‘em are bad people, but they’re all people.

The US, on the other hand, is a mess. But so is Canada, and I’ve been trying to make that clear whenever I poke fun at the US, even if I might occasionally not be as clear as I should about that. No country is perfect. However, I think I’m a little justified in saying the US is maybe more of a mess, since I don’t fear for my life here in Canada (I’m a still-semi-closeted white kid who spends all her time on her phone, what do I have to be afraid of?), but often do fear for the people I love who live in the US regardless of their privilege. Moreso every day this year, honestly.

This turned out long, but I hope it’s a coherent answer.

Hows the weather up in Canada? We just got 30cm down in the states. So it only seems fitting to ask what your favorite ice type pokemon is. Have you ever used one on your team?

We had snow for a while, but it melted just after Christmas for the most part…
As for Pokemon, before the new games it would’ve been easy, but now there’s two.
Since, before the new games I’d say Glaceon without a second thought.
I really like Alola Ninetales, though!
If you count Showdown teams, then yes I have, because I use an Alola Ninetales named Sagittarius.
