I actually posted the thing @birdgoddess
It was a peaceful day at the beach. Or, it had been, until Ash decided he wanted some ice cream. Being that he had left his wallet at home, he asked Misty if she could lend him some money.
“Forgot your wallet again?”
“I didn’t think I’d need it!”
Misty just sighed and handed him a five dollar bill, knowing she would never see that particular bill – Billy – ever again.
Ash hugged her and ran towards the ice cream stand, and she smiled despite the painful loss of Billy. When he returned, he was carrying two ice cream cones, so she came to the obvious conclusion.
“Oh, you got me one too? Thank you!”
As she reached for it, he moved it out of her reach. “Whoa, hey! No, that’s mine–”
“Ash Ketchum,” her voice was dark and serious as she pinned him to the ground, something he had heard only a handful of times. “You used my money to buy that ice cream. Now give me that cone.”
Ash, while a stubborn individual, possessed a healthy fear of a deeply angered Misty, and gulped. He held out one of the cones, and she snatched it away with a bright smile. “Thank you!”
Ash picked himself up, taking care for to lose his remaining cone to the sand that now lingered in… Well, everything. Ugh. Sand. It was one of the very few things Ash disliked.
As he watched Misty skip off towards some of the other girls at the party, he sighed and decided he would never understand how her mind worked.
